Gut Weissenhof
SustainableSustainability at Gut Weissenhof
At Gut Weissenhof, we live and work in harmony with the nature that surrounds us. As a sustainable hotel in Salzburger Land, we make many small decisions in our daily lives and consciously undertake significant investments to conserve resources and responsibly manage what has been entrusted to us. For us, sustainability is not a trend, but part of our farm life and our responsibility towards future generations.
Enjoy a sustainable holiday in Salzburger Land
For us, a sustainable holiday begins where origin, daily life, and hospitality come together. At Gut Weissenhof, sustainability is an integral part of our farm life, tangible in agriculture, in the kitchen, in energy supply, and in our respectful interaction with our environment. This creates a holiday that feels good and simultaneously takes responsibility.
Authentic. Regional. With love.
From our farm to your plate
What grows at Weissenhof is carefully harvested by us and processed with great care. This results in jams, apple juice, and homemade cakes that you can not only taste but also feel. Herbs from our own garden accompany many of our dishes, bringing a piece of farm life to your plate.
The beef from our oxen also comes from our own farm and is processed with great appreciation. This proximity to the source is an important part of a sustainable holiday for us and naturally connects our cuisine with life at Gut Weissenhof.

Green Option
For the love of the environment
Small gesture, big impact
Sometimes it’s the small things that together make a big difference. With our Green Option, you can easily let us know if you wish to forgo room cleaning for a day. Simply hang the green ribbon on your door.
This way, we collectively save water, cleaning products, energy, and valuable working time. Above all, we contribute together to protecting our environment.
Regenerative.
Heating with wood chips
Since 2008, the hotel and the tennis hall have been heated by our own wood chip heating plant. For this, we use wood from the region and deliberately keep transport routes short. This allows us to save approximately 200,000 liters of oil and about 536,000 kilograms of CO₂ each year.
For us, this type of heating means taking responsibility and relying on regional resources.

Energy from the sun
Naturally generated, consciously used
Electricity from our own roof
On the roofs of the tennis hall and the team house, our photovoltaic systems produce a large part of our electricity ourselves. With a total output of approximately 385 kWp, we cover about half of our electricity needs directly from solar energy.
This is how we harness the power of nature to make our hotel more sustainable step by step.
Arrive. Unwind. Recharge.
Charging stations directly at the farm
