Outdoor Trail Work | 25 minutes

Outdoor trail with elements from Working Equitation

Working Equitation is a combination of dressage, agility, and trust between horse and rider. Obstacles such as slalom, gate, or bell playfully help to train riding influence and to make the horse agile and improve its composure.

We have brought these obstacles out into nature to give our riders the opportunity to leave the four “protective” walls of the riding arena and train their riding skills outdoors.

Even our youngest riders can master the trail on a lead rein – experienced riders might even manage the trail at a canter with a little practice.

Riding lessons are available daily except Sundays.

Weissenhof Rocking Horse

Duration of stay: minimum 5 riding days (the program can also be spread over a longer period)

This course is aimed at our youngest horse fans from about 5 years old. The ability to read is not yet necessary; what’s important is the joy of getting to know and interacting with ponies and horses.

The focus is on first encounters with the horse, building trust, and playfully understanding how a horse reacts. Children gain  first experiences in the saddle, learn to balance, and develop a feel for how a horse moves. The course is wonderful as a gentle introduction to the world of horses and helps children approach riding safely and curiously.

  • 5 practical exercises: a mix of riding lessons in the riding arena, groundwork on the lead rein in the outdoor trail, and lead rein trail rides, each as individual lessons of 25 minutes
  • 5 horse knowledge units: joint grooming, practical acquisition of “basic knowledge” about horses, each 25 minutes
  • Theory book and coloring pages
  • Certificate of completion

Package price per child €325

Riding lessons are available daily except Sundays.

We recommend more intensive riding lessons only from the age of 7, as from a medical perspective, left-right coordination and the spine are not yet sufficiently developed before then!

Weissenhof Hobby Horse

Duration of stay: minimum 5 riding days (the program can also be spread over a longer period)

This course is aimed at young beginner riders and slightly advanced riders from about 7 years old. A prerequisite is that the child can read with comprehension to independently understand exercises, tasks, and small theory units.

The goal is to ride the horse independently at a walk and, depending on progress, also gain first experiences at a trot. Safe rising trot, free or on the lunge, is gradually built up. In addition to practice, young riders acquire  basic knowledge about ponies and horses, learn important stable rules, and develop a feel for subtle, partnership-based riding.

  • 10 practical riding units: a mix of basic individual lessons, work in the “outdoor trail,” and lead rein trail rides, each 25 minutes
  • 5 theory units of 30 minutes each
  • Riding lesson textbook
  • Final exam with riding certificate

Package price per child €370

Riding lessons are available daily except Sundays.

Weissenhof Horseshoe

Duration of stay: minimum 5 riding days (the program can also be spread over a longer period)

This course is aimed at young, already advanced riders from about eight years old. A prerequisite is that the horse can be ridden independently at walk and trot on simple arena figures, and a basic understanding of aids is present.

The goal of the course is to keep the horse independently at walk, trot, and canter on the most important arena figures, thereby consolidating the fundamentals of balance, rhythm, and subtle communication. Additionally, participants deepen their  basic knowledge about ponies and horses, learning more about keeping, care, and behavior.

  • 10 practical riding units: a mix of basic individual lessons, work in the “outdoor trail,” and lead rein trail rides, each 25 minutes
  • 5 theory units of 30 minutes each
  • Riding lesson textbook
  • Mini final exam with certificate

Package price per child €370

Riding lessons are available daily except Sundays.

Booking & Organization

Reserve riding lessons in advance

We are happy to reserve your riding lessons in advance. To find the right course, the right horse, and the right time for you, we need some information beforehand:

How much experience do you have?

Which horses are you familiar with?

What time of day do you prefer to ride?

With this information, we can reserve suitable lessons for you. We kindly ask you to be at the stable approximately 20 minutes before the start of the course.

Age Recommendation for More Intensive Riding Lessons

We recommend more intensive riding lessons only from the age of 7, as from a medical perspective,
left-right coordination and the spine are not yet sufficiently developed before then.
