With your own horse

Riding Vacation

Riding holiday with your own horse

A riding holiday with your own horse is something truly special. At Gut Weissenhof, we warmly welcome you and your horse during the summer months – in a setting that combines peace, nature and excellent training facilities.

Facilities for your horse

During your summer holiday at Gut Weissenhof, you have the option of bringing your horse with you. The guest horse box costs €38 per day and includes feed, mucking out and use of the entire equestrian facility.

Our five guest horse boxes are approx. 12 m² in size and bedded with sawdust. Feed is provided three times a day (pellets, oats on request) and hay twice a day. Any special or supplementary feed you bring with you will of course be administered carefully and conscientiously.

In fine weather, the horses have access to two large grass paddocks; when it rains, there is a mud paddock. Turnout is arranged in consultation with our stable team.

Additional services for your horse

Wellness for horses

At Gut Weissenhof, there is wellness for our “four-legged friends” too. Especially in the colder season, the horses enjoy the pleasant warmth of our horse solarium.

Respiratory support

To support cough prevention, we cook warm barley, and our dust-sensitive horses receive steamed hay.

Veterinary care

Ms Dr. med. vet. Anna Stölzl regularly looks after our horses with regard to chiropractic care.

Additional therapy options

In addition, magnetic field therapy and Equitron are available, supervised by Ms Johanna Walter.

This all-round service can of course also be used for guest horses – we recommend booking appointments early.

Organisation & useful information

Registration and reservation

If you are staying with your own horse, registration is required at the time of booking. As only five guest horse boxes are available, we kindly ask you to enquire in good time whether a box is available for your desired period. The box is only firmly reserved for your horse once we have confirmed it.

Documents and vaccination status

Please do not forget the equine passport.

To protect your horse and all other horses, we recommend up-to-date influenza/tetanus vaccination; herpes vaccination is also recommended.

Feed information

Information about special feed or individual needs helps us care for your horse in the best possible way. You are welcome to bring your own concentrates or supplementary feed at any time – we will of course administer them carefully and according to your instructions.

We hope these notes answer the most important questions, and we would be delighted to welcome you and your horse to our hotel soon.

Training opportunities

Our riding school offers various training focuses for working with your own horse. Whether group or private dressage lessons, corrective work with your horse, or targeted sessions to improve rideability in collaboration with our qualified riding instructors.

You are also in good hands with us for jumping training: from cavaletti and jumping gymnastics to course training. In addition, an outdoor trail is available, ideal for balance, coordination and trust between horse and rider.

Our riding instructors are also on hand to help you prepare specifically for exams or competitions. We also offer one-hour hacks, and you are welcome to join us.

Outdoor Trail Work | 25 minutes

Outdoor trail with elements from Working Equitation

Working Equitation is a combination of dressage, agility, and trust between horse and rider. Obstacles such as slalom, gate, or bell playfully help to train riding influence and to make the horse agile and improve its composure.

We have brought these obstacles out into nature to give our riders the opportunity to leave the four “protective” walls of the riding arena and train their riding skills outdoors.

Even our youngest riders can master the trail on a lead rein – experienced riders might even manage the trail at a canter with a little practice.

Per person €24

Riding lessons are available daily except Sundays.

Trail Ride (Guided) | 50 minutes

Around the farm, bridle paths lead along the Enns river towards Schladming or, in winter, to Altenmarkt. Trail rides are suitable for experienced riders and only take place in appropriate weather and ground conditions.

After an introduction, you have the option of riding out independently or taking advantage of accompaniment by one of our riding instructors.

Groundwork | approx. 25 minutes

Everything about horses beyond riding. From safe handling, leading, and lunging to grooming and saddling. We are happy to accommodate your individual wishes.
