Even in summer, temperatures in the cave are around freezing. Warm clothing and sturdy footwear are therefore recommended.
The Eisriesenwelt can only be visited as part of a guided tour. Booking online in advance makes planning easier, especially during peak season.
For the entire trip, including the cable car and the walk, you should allow around three to four hours.

The Eisriesenwelt in Werfen is one of the most impressive natural wonders in the Salzburg region. The cable car takes you up into the Tennengebirge mountains, and from there a short walk leads to the cave entrance.
On a guided tour, you will discover the world’s largest ice cave with its vast ice formations and crystal-clear structures. Even in summer, temperatures here are wintry – an exciting contrast to the warm mountain air outside.
